How to Customise a Winter Inspired Zip up Hoody
So I have started to customise clothes and its been so much fun. I am just starting off so I'm working on very simple modifications so far. Its great especially if you want to save money by re-inventing your old clothes or want to customise a cheap type of clothing into something unique, creative & fun.I will be working on D.I.Y Style Work Shops with you guys so for my very first workshop; I'm going to start with something really really simple and easy. So for this workshop, I will show you how you can modify your hoody. I got inspired by the weather and mixed fabric with beads to give a 'Cloud & Rain' design. I plan to make a series of these (Sunny, Snowy, Stormy etc)
This is really simple and easy. Becareful though when using sewing needles (if you know how to use a sewing machine; go for it!) I am debating whether I should get a sewing machine myself but I don't know how to work one =( I have been asked if it come off in the wash? This is definately a good question. Infact; it is one of the most important factors that I thought about before customising my clothes. The answer is no, not if you sew it securely enough and using a truthworthy fabric glue. I spoke to the lady and she reccomended me a fabric glue which is used especially for fabric & alterations that won't wash off. Ofc, I didn't want to risk it and I sewed anyway for the safe side :)
So for my next workshop tutorial; you guys can decide whether I can work with a cardigan or with a shirt. So far; the feedback is leaning to the Cardigan more. Either is fine with me. I have to admit I do love the cardigan more because it is much easier & so easy to match.
So for this tutorial, I'm going to break the ice by choosing a simple DIY workshop. Altering a hoody into a cute and simple design. I suddenly got inspired by the cold weather and thought I will turn the dull weather into something a fashion idea. I plan to do more designs inspired by the weather conditions (Snowy, Stormy, Sunny etc). Hope you guys enjoy this one. This is something new for me and I hope you guys enjoy it!
